FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

The Chardham Yatra season typically runs from May to June and September to November. The shrines open after Akshaya Tritiya (April/May) and close around Diwali (October/November). The best time is May–June for clear skies and accessible roads, and September–October for post-monsoon greenery and cooler weather. We recommend avoiding July–August due to heavy rains and landslide risks on Himalayan roads.

The Kedarnath trek (approximately 18 km each way from Gaurikund) is covered by foot as part of the group itinerary. However, if you prefer not to trek, you can hire ponies, palanquins (palki), or book a helicopter ride at your own cost. Helicopter services are subject to availability and must be pre-booked separately — we can assist you in arranging these on request.

We use well-maintained shared AC Tempo Travellers (12–15 seater) or mini coaches depending on the group size. All vehicles are driven by experienced drivers with knowledge of Himalayan roads. For larger groups, we may use a full-size AC coach. Vehicle type is confirmed at the time of booking based on group headcount.

We provide double or triple sharing accommodation in comfortable dharamshalas, guesthouses, and budget hotels at each destination. All rooms include basic amenities — clean bedding, hot water (where available), and attached bathrooms. Please note that in remote areas like Kedarnath, accommodation is basic by nature. Upgrade options are available at additional charges on request.

Yes, with the right preparation, senior citizens can comfortably complete the Chardham Yatra. We strongly recommend a health check-up before the trip as altitudes above 3,000 m can be challenging. Pony and palki options are available at the dhams to avoid trekking. Our tour coordinator provides special assistance to elderly pilgrims throughout the journey. Please inform us at booking if you have any medical conditions.

The Uttarakhand government mandates online registration for Chardham Yatra through the official portal. You will need a valid government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar, passport, voter card). For Kedarnath, biometric registration is done at Sonprayag. We assist all group members with the registration process — please carry original ID proof along with a photo copy. Share your details with us at booking so we can pre-register on your behalf.

Cancellations made 15+ days before departure receive a full refund minus processing charges. 7–14 days: 50% refund. Less than 7 days: no refund. In case of natural calamities, temple closures, or government restrictions (common during Chardham season), we offer full rescheduling at no extra charge. Full T&Cs shared at time of booking.
